Some people love to do nothing more than relax while on holiday, whereas for others, an adventure is always the number one way to enjoy their time away from home. Luckily, there are plenty of exciting excursions that can be taken during any trip to Europe, so here’s a quick run-down of how to make the most of your time.

The most obvious way to get out and get active during camping holidays is to go on long, sightseeing walks. The good news is that Europe is full of camping sites, so camping holidays in Paris, for example, can quite easily accommodate a trip to the Eiffel Tower or the Louvre. Similarly, Spanish coastal holidays are only walking distance from a number of brilliant beaches on which you and your party can stay active by playing sport or going for a swim.

Another option when it comes to staying active during camping holidays in Europe is to visit an amusement park. You might not think it, but the adrenaline released during a rollercoaster ride, in addition to the sheer amount of walking as you traverse the park itself, is actually quite healthy for you.

Probably the most famous theme park on the continent is Disneyland in Paris, which brings to life the characters from the Disney universe and allows you and your party to experience them up close and personal and live out their adventures on numerous rides and in exhibitions.

If your party decides to a camping holiday in Germany is the way to go, Europe Park could be the perfect attraction to visit. Europa is, as the name might have given away, based on Europe, so you can expect different sections within the park to be based on countries around Europe. It’s a great way of seeing Europe without doing the air miles!

Perhaps the best way to stay active in the outdoors is to just get out and experience it for yourself. And where better to do such a thing than in the myriad of national parks scattered across Europe? One park which may go unnoticed by some due to its location is the High Tatras National Park in Northern Slovakia. High Tatras – also known as Vysoke Tatry – is found close to the Polish borders, which means a trip to Slovakia can also accommodate a sojourn to Poland and vice versa!

Lastly, parties embarking on camping holidays to Spain should consider incorporating a visit to Coto de Donana National Park. This park is again located close to a border, this time Portugal, and is perfect for any bird-lovers as it is a regular home for those of the avian variety who migrate from Africa or parts of Northern Europe over the course of the year.

It’s easy to stay active on camping holidays with a little planning. There’s so much to see and do, and so much to experience, that you and your party could end up absolutely exhausted by the time you get back!
